2025 Raoul Wallenberg Day

Courageous Rescue from Afghanistan

Dedicated to the memory of Mursal Nabizada

Afghanistan's Taliban rulers progressively deny women the right to take part in public life. Those who were MPs have been targeted ruthlessly. The WALLENBERG -SUGIHARA CIVIL COURAGE AWARD was presented to Corey Levine, who has worked courageously in Afghanistan and Pakistan to help former MPs escape to safer countries. In a passionate talk, she shared her experiences.
